Tobacco Free Partnership of Okeechobee sponsors 2017 Back to School Expo
July 22, 2017

Once again, the Tobacco Free Partnership of Okeechobee sponsored and participated in the Back to School Expo.

Our Village Okeechobee hosted the event, which was located at Okeechobee High School. The event was open to the public and there were 451 youth and 508 adults in attendance at the event.

Partnership members and SWAT youth maned their area during the event and disseminated information on topics such as the dangers of smokeless tobacco, the effects of secondhand smoke, the role of our partnership in Okeechobee and how/why you should join, information on establishing tobacco free venue policies, and information on the local Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Chapter.

The Okeechobee SWAT Chapter was also at the event, providing information about how to join SWAT during the next school year, and events and activities that the local SWAT youth can participate in.
